Aw they are adorable xxx I'm guessing you're in the Us somewhere? We already have 3 cats. And in the uk. Love them both though xxx The vets office sounds a good idea, agree Craigslist isn't a good idea although you never know. I've genuinely used Craigslist several times, not for pets but furniture, ride share etc. Really hope you find great new homes for them xx
yes in the US

The babies at play. Gizmo, which is the white one, is eating soft kitten food, drinking water, and using the litter box. Mudslide the calico is using the litter box but is not eating and drinking yet. They are doing well!

I am just beside myself. Abby's kittens went to a very nice Feline Rescue facility on Monday of this week, and I have just had the hardest time with this. The lady is refusing to return the kittens, and tells me that she will allow us to have the kittens back in three weeks, AFTER they have been spayed, and neutered!! I originally told her that it would be hard for us to afford to keep them, and have them fixed, but now the loss is more than I can bear, but she still refuses to return them. We had a Farrell cat in the barn, who had had 5 babies. They were three weeks old, so she took them with the understanding, we would take the momma cat back after the kittens were weaned. They agreed to fix her at no cost to us, and now she is saying we have to pay to her spayed. I miss my little kitties, and so does Abby! She is running around looking for them, and it is breaking my heart!! Nothing that I can do about it either, evidently. I am soooo sad!!

I'm confused. Is mama kitty with her babies? How old are the kittens?

They were 8 weeks old, and no the momma cat is here. The lady who took them said they would be fine because they were eating on their own. Nothing I can do now.

I understand your distress. Do you plan to take them back?

You started this thread wanting them adopted because you could not keep them.

Why is it 3 weeks until they can be returned to you?

I realize i started the thread because i wanted them adopted, but when they left I had no idea it would effect me so. The lady told me that she didn't want to let them go until they were spayed and nutered. I told her by that time it would be to late, because they would be stranger's to my other cats. No I won't be taking them back in that case. Nothing else to be done. Thanks for talking to me about it.

I'm so sorry. In 3 weeks' time they will still remember their mom, and your cats will adjust to them. They will not be that much bigger if you want to keep them.

I don't think it would be too late after 3 weeks if you desperately want them back.

I agree that you could take them back if you wanted. Are they not able to help you fix mom now?

She is backed up with milk. Use a warm, damp compress on her nipples to offer relief while she is drying up.

Now I seem to have a problem with Abby, the kittens mom. I thought she might have some left over milk because she was still just a bit saggy. I touched her tummy and found a huge knot under one of her back nipples. After looking further, there are smaller knots around a few of her other nipples. The one I spoke of first is very large, and elongated. I am not sure if it is her milk drying up, or mammory gland issues. She had a vet appointment in the morning.

Yes, they can give her a shot. She may need an antibiotic.

She won't let you put a warm, damp cloth across her tummy?

Poor gal. Can you get her to the vet today? She must be in some pain from her mammary glands.

Do you have her spay scheduled?

I can't get her there until in the morning. We are going to talk to them about spaying her while we are there tomorrow. I am just praying they are not tumors, and only milk.

She has been running and playing with Kleo. He is my male, and they are buddies. They have been chasing each other through the house this morning.
