Thanks MServant! You know I was wondering about that. Gray seems to be about the same age. My girls came from a litter of I think 5. I kept the three girls that stuck around, so he could quite possibly be part of the litter, because he looks just like my cats except for the tail. His tail is curled at the tip a bit, he fathered a litter of two before I caught him and one of his kittens had his short tail as well.
Norachan in Japan says her bunch of short-tailed cats really have regular sized tails but they are deformed into these short or bobtails, she says you can feel the crumpled-up tails through the skin of their tails. I wonder if Gray's tail and that of his kitten's are like that?

Freya is gorgeous.  I don't think I've ever seen a Blue Point cat before and it's really pretty.    Is that a little heat pad Freya is on there @Sargon?   She looks very happy and comfortable there.
Thanks. I think blue and lilac points are especially pretty.   She's laying in her usual spot... on my bed on top of a comforter.  Sometimes she sleeps under it, but she really likes the new comforter(because it has a cover with a high thread count, no doubt.. My kitten is a little spoiled...

Yeah grays tail is a bit like that, so was his kittens! At the tip of his tail you can feel a kind of knobby part, like it is crumpled or compacted. His kittens were beautiful. The bobtail one was black with blueish eyes and in the sun you could see brownish red spots. He was adopted almost instantly. his other kitten was an adorable gray tabby. She had a regular tail but it was shorter than normal, and she had a bad wound on her back leg, she was missing her paw but it healed nicely. The mother was a very tiny Brown tabby, like 5 lbs. They were all adopted within about a week, thankfully. I just wish i could find Gray a home. I was wondering if he was a regular DSH With just an abnormal tail or if he was a Manx, because His back legs are a bit longer than his front so he looks a bit like a rabbit when he runs.

@parisinthe30sx   Are Gray's forelegs significantly shorter than his hind legs, and / or bowed?   This can be an indication of an inherited bone deformity which affects bone and cartilege. Known as Osteochondroplasia, it usually affects long bone growth - I don't know if it can also affect tails  (I'm more familiar about how it presents in humans but it happens in dogs and cats too).    If there is some chance Gray has this condition it is important in terms of how he might age, and any breeding because it can cause other problems such as arthritis as cats age, and any kittens can inherit the condition - which can include difficulties such as spine deformities, jaw deformities, and shortened limbs.

How interesting that bones can be felt in the tail but it is shorter in length.

mservant mservant his front legs look to be about regular length not bowed at all thankfully, and his back legs seems to be just a little bit longer. He's a really unique looking cat, and extremely smart. I think someone might have caught him once before because it doesn't matter how hungry he is or what I tempt him with, he won't come within five feet of a trap. He used to Get the food out without tripping it, but now he won't come close. I even tried getting him in my front door, nope. It's like he knows lol

I'm glad he seems healthy.    What a shame - he seems to be too smart for his own good.
I hope you can keep him reasonably well cared for out there, and manage to get more pictures to share with us.

Here's one from about a week ago. I think I'm Going to contact a rescue group for some tips, maybe they can help me catch him.
Rescue groups love when people care enough to try to help feral and stray cats. I'm sure they'd be glad to help you set up traps to lure him in.

Talk about handsome.  He has a gorgeous face.

Great idea about contacting a rescue group if there's one near by.  Good luck.

I love browsing all the beautiful cats on here! Just an updated picture of Bowie. He is a year old today and is quite the character. This is such a great site, I love all the sharing and look forward to seeing lots more pictures!
Happy Birthday, beautiful Bowie - and Happy Saint Valentine's Day to both of you,  Guilly !

Bowie is one handsome furry rug @Guilly.    His fur looks super thick and just perfect for loosing your fingers in, and that tail of his is spectacular.

Thank you everyone. He does have a magnificent coat  he's wonderful. I have a lot of challenges feeding him. His has to be the pickiest cat I have ever known. Lol

I finally got round to uploading a few recent photos of the Mouse today.
Staring at me in the hope I will feed him some biscuits....

Staring at said biscuit tin in the hope it will open itself when I fail to do what I'm being told.
Snuggling up on the fleece, next to me on the sofa despite my not giving in to his pleading for biscuits.

@segelkatt  I know!  He's a very prim pussycat.

"Hey, you, get off of my cloud!  Don't hang around because two's a crowd...."

He's charming though, very characterful.  He was a walk-in at my mum's.  We know the people he used to live with, he just upped sticks and moved house.  Quite embarrassing really!  He's the sort who will suddenly run up and jump on your knee, then if you move a muscle he'll savage you.  You can tell that deep down he wants to be fussed, but he just can't hack it.  It's best to give him a swift pat on the head and leave it at that.
