Hi all, its me again. Looking for more advice lol.....this time im sorry for those whom may be squeamish but this happened this morning:

So my kitty was crying and nattering to me this morning and i thought it was just because he wanted his food, i got up came down and sees poo smeared outside his litter tray in the kitchen floor.*edited* cleaned it up and ive now managed to clean him as best as hed let me and cut off the dried bits stuck to him! Allls good now possibly just a little staining im sure hel clean off himself [emoji]9786[/emoji] What i want to ask is although like humans we can get constipated from time to time but is it a symptom of something else i need to look oyt for with him? Hes been treated for worms and there was none seen in his poop so im not sure what else it could be!! Although he it still on dry food as he gets terrible diahorrea off wet food! All advice appreciated xx

Cats do get constipated sometimes. What are you feeding your cat? A dry food only diet is one cause for some cats because of the lack of water. Adding canned food to the diet can help.

A trip to the vet would be a good idea to make sure the constipation isn't caused by a medical issue. There are other conditions beside worms that can cause constipation. You can also ask the vet about using canned pumpkin puree or a stool softener like Miralax. I think the US Miralax is called PEG 3350 (Polyethylene glycol 3350) in Europe. A cat dose of PEG is obviously not the same as the Human dosage printed on the label so the vet has to tell you the correct cat dose.

Wet food. Also, Try Keifer. It's cultured milk. Not sure how much to give, You can probably ask a holistic vet. I give it to my babies as they both have yeast infections of the skin, and dog has it in his ears, too. It is sooooooo good for sooooo many things!  You can get it at Walmart, but it's very easy to make it at home. I will try to share a link on how to make it. The home made version has upwards of 60 Million live active cultures,  yogurt only has 7.  Don't worry about any lactose, as when it's made, (store version and home made), it eats about 98-99% of the lactose. So, given appropriately, it will not cause the runs. :) It does not act like a laxative, as in, makes them "go" right then, it just makes them go normally, like they normally would. I will try to look for the video link now.
