Do you know the parentage? This pattern is no bread and butter bengal-alike.  My guess is he is near descendant from some of our small wildcats cousins.  He is young enough to be possible he is the real thing.  Ozelot??

IF so, the question is, if any of these cousins to our domestics are renown for having this cowlick-swirl.

That is my reaction, at least.   :)

Sorry i didn't mention he is a pure bred bengal with pedegree papers. But even the wild cats doesn't have any of this feature so definitely did not came from his wild ancestry. Probably I should also mention that I'm a registered breeder and I bred this little kitten. I was just surprise with this kitten as when he was born he does not have a cowlick it just starts to show up when he was about two weeks old so I thought of posting his picture here just incase there's another cat that has cowlick like his :)

Hello!

I recently adopted a kitten with a cowlick on her back from the neck to between the shoulder blades, where two stripes diverge. It seemed unusual to me, so I googled it, and came to this thread. I also found out that a cowlick on the back is a common feature of the Florida panther / puma.

She's not a Bengal, at least not pedigreed or full, although I've been asked many times if she is. But her face coloring/marking does looks rather like your kitty.

Yeah, the little one apparently no purebred bengal, but may have bengal ancestry, the looks somewhat unusual for a classical  tabby.  With this goldenish fur at that.

The foster parent is interesting too - shehe has the coloring of a puma whom you mentioned.

We wanna see more good pics, both on the big and on the little one!

You can start an own tread for them if you so wish.

Thank you!

The "parent" is my boy Winnie whom I adopted from the same shelter 3 years earlier (on the same weekend!) The shelter called him a lynx-point Siamese. I'm pretty sure he's very mixed but he does have gorgeous blue eyes and some of the variable shading. Sweetest kitty ever and the kitten adores him.

Hello Jrotem,

I have not visited this site for a while then i remembered to see if there's any news about my query and as soon as I opened the link i saw the picture of your beautiful cat! Now my cat has grown a bit he actually has that same "ridge or cowlick" at the back of his neck plus the original "cowlick" in between his shoulder blades and its getting more prominent to see. Thanks for sharing your cat picture here. I'll upload some more pictures of my cat when i'm back in this site.

The top two new photos taken 11/Feb/2017 and he is around 5 months now. Look at his cowlick its getting bigger and very obvious and there's another one right at the back of the head and although it doesn't show on the picture he actually have another cowlick on his side.
