I can't seem to find how many calories her wet food has.  Can someone help me? There website is starting to discourage me. I've been looking for it since yesterday...

The Fancy Feast Classics are mostly under 100 calories. You would need a lot of those tiny 3 oz cans for your overweight cat a day. 3 oz cans add up in cost over time. A brand that comes in a large can size would be better. You don't need anything expensive. Friskies is an acceptable choice and there is a variety or two that comes in a huge 12 oz can size. The general recommendation is to feed 20 to 25 calories per pound of ideal body weight per day but for such an obese cat, you may need to feed more calories per pound for now to prevent fatty liver disease. You would need to first figure out how many calories your cat is currently eating every day. Then aim for a small reducation of calories for the next week or so. When your cat is ok with that, reduce the calories a little more. Repeat until the extra weight comes off. I wouldn't do more than a 100 claorie reducation at a time.

I wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone who helped and guided me with my overweight girl.  I started giving half a can in the morning and half at night along with a half cup of weight management food "free" fed through out the day. Along with making her run across the house. And I'm glad to say that although not much my girl has lost weight.  She started her diet weighing 24.4 pounds and now weighs in at 23.4

So she's lost 1 pound in 4 weeks.  That's not too bad, really.  She could lose a little bit faster (I think, if I've calculated correctly, but I'm terrible with  numbers

)  Still, better to lose slower than too fast.

  Now just keep it up.  You'll start to notice her getting more active as she loses, or at least you should

How great, though, that she's losing... that's the main thing.
