He has gorgeous markings. He's a very handsome boy. I had 2 ball pythons before my DD was born. She's 20 now so it's been a while. They were very mild mannered and fun pets.

He's lovely.  Thank you for sharing pics.  A friend had a python, I think it was called a ball python?  The kind that doesn't get big.  I'm trying to do the math on on Celine 50 kg = 110 lbs?  I've been out of nursing school for some time, but I think that's right.  Goodness, I wouldn't be able to pick her up...

this is my pet snake Elias...he is a bredli python and just over a year old....not quite sure his length at the moment but at around age 5 he will grow to roughly 9 ft

Over here we also call them carpet pythons, or children's pythons.  I recently had one on my roof under a solar panel.... he was there for quite a long time as he'd swallowed a possum.

Elias is very beautiful.

Ah, yes, a carpet python! I wondered why I hadn't heard of a bredli, lol. Yeah, I normally hear them called carpet pythons. But Children's pythons are different---small and docile. So much so that a lot of people think they're called that because they're good pets for children ;) (actually they're named after a Mr. Children). I was considering one before I got my ball python.

Yes.. you're quite right Willowy.. My neighbour had a children's python ..  Once it came over to my place for a visit.  It was the first snake I ever picked up so it probably looked like a carpet python to me then..

This is a breed specific to Adelaide where i live. They are NOT childrens pythons they are docile if well fed and handled though

They make great pets if they are regularly handled but their size can be hard to manage. I take elias out for coffee at the mall!
.People have one of 2 reactions, They either FREAK OUT and dont come near me which personally i prefer as i live in a very rough neighbourhood so people tend to stay away.Elias is a great deterrant! OR they r utterly intruigued and come up and ask me all sorts of questions and some have even held him. I get ALOT  of small children actually come up to me and ask to hold him much to their parents freaking out
but if Elias wasnt safe to take out i public i wouldnt bring him out with me! If he hasnt been fed i dont take him out.

i ESPECIALLY love the people who say to me "Is that real?!" Like i would be carrying a plastic snake around my neck!!!!

Ah, carpet python... glad somebody saved me.  I wasn't sure what it was and I'm no expert but I've known a fair bit about herps and especially snakes since I was a kid.

I've had tons of snakes.  I got out of it in high school, though.  Last thing I had was a Boa.  She was decent size, about 5 1/2 foot and heavy bodied.  I used to just let her run loose in my room after I fed her.  She got hit by a car.  Unrelated, actually.  I actually had her in enclosure and I always kept it weighted but she somehow got out.  I never went looking for her because she oh so conveniently disappeared right after we had a house party so I thought somebody stole her so I never once looked for her.  I moved out of town shortly after that but then heard from somebody in the neighborhood that Animal Control had to come get an angry Boa that had been hit by a car, that had to be her.  I don't know if she would have even survived but I assume they would have euthanized her regardless.  She wasn't aggressive at all but I'm sure she was striking at people that were messing with her after that.  Not much I could do about the situation.

My cousin has a California King Snake, it's pretty cool.
