he looks like such a big boy! His arms looks so long and slender O: And ziggy does the same with my pillows XD And washed sheets XD XD
Oh yes, the limbs are long and slender, all the better for bouncing about with.  Shame about the tubby belly!

I reckon they like to claim the bed before their humans get there to make sure we know who it is we change the bed for - and naturally, they don't believe it was for ourselves.  From your pic's Ziggy certainly looks like she's got you trained on that front!  She's got her strawberry AND your bed.

She does! I even got her a box the other day that's shaped perfectly to become a kitty bed, now I just need to buy her some fabric and stuffing to make it more comfy for her XD Shes quite intelligent, always comes to me when I call her unless she REALLY does'nt want too. She understands a lot. But will only do what shes told to do when she wants too, if she wants too XD

Looks like Percy and Ziggy might have had the same lessons in how to take over their human's home!

At night I'm pinned down like Gulliver by a bunch of cats. So they like the bed when I'm in it.  Outside of that, the favorite thing is a box from Costco. Those are particularly choice real estate. The cats do use their special little beds though. I have one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. We also built a cat storage shelf in front of the window. The surface is just at the right height so they can gaze outside, and sit and sleep on soft blankets and a couple of stuffed cat pillows that I made.  This one likes to help me make the bed. As you can see she is VERY very helpful. This is Simone

Bella will use her cat bed occasionally, usually when she is snubbing me. From time to time, she will nap on her cat tree or perch on the window seat. Usually, however, she is on the bed. And she often likes to position herself right in the middle, so the I barely have room no matter which side I choose. Trying to move her...well, you live with cats. You know. (On the plus side, I can now fall asleep on either side of the bed, with a cover-hog.). Sometimes she uses me as a pillow for her head, but I have also woken up to find her lying on my stomach.
The only thing she's ever preferred to my bed, by the way, was a Medium Brown Bag from Bloomingdales. So I would start with a cardboard box or paper bag, maybe with a blanket or towel. If you really want to make it cute, you could always decorate the outside.

I bought Jasper a bed when I got him and fully expected him not to use it because he is a cat and cats never do what you want them to do. And and for a couple of months he ignored it completely. I placed it near the heater and lo and behold he started using it. It sits next to my bed and most nights he will sleep in it. Occasionally he moves to the big chair also next to my bed. I've been sleeping on the couch some nights and then he chooses this little basket I have, which is way too small for him. He almost always sleeps in the same room as me but sometimes he disappears for some alone time, no idea where he goes either, lol. But yeah, he does use his bed and I was really surprised. It's nothing special, just basically a cushion with sides.

Aaw, @betsygee, that is so cute.
Isn't he cute, sprawled out on that bed?  I'd originally brought it home for one of the newbie cats who seemed to like to snuggle into warm cubby holes.  She didn't really use it, though, so I brought it out of her room and put it down on that table (temporarily I thought) intending to donate it to the animal shelter.  Next thing I knew, Rico had appropriated it, so there it stays....

My cats really like sleeping on my toddler's furniture. He has a small couch and armchair that they think are theirs.

They used to have a wicker basket that looked like a nest that was really cute, but eventually they just got too big for it.

Check this out--I got this pic last night.  His butt is falling off one end of the bed and the other end is tipped up from the imbalance of weight.  It doesn't look all that comfy to me, but he's dead to the world....  Funny cat.

  • @Andrya, you have some really nice cat beds. I can't wait to get my 8 months old kitten a playmate!! Then maybe I can have some funny pictures like yours.
  • For winter I'm looking for some beds that are really cozy and covered... some place for Carl to hide and sleep.
  • Right know his favorite spot is on my bed curled up against stomach. I can get really annoying when I'm sleeping and want to move. Where did you get that bed (cave) from?

@Carlthecat , I suspect that Carl, being a cat, thinks he is hiding in your picture! In his dreams he will be that little leopard and he will be invisible sleeping on his leopard bed.   :-D  He is very sweet!
