I have all of those songs on my walking iPod except for Black Betty! Not a big fan of Tom Petty, but I do like Running Down a Dream. Love Golden Earring and Thorogood.

How about any of these (also from my iPod):

I Just Want to Make Love to You - Foghat (the live version)

Aint That a Shame - Cheap Trick (the live version)

Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple (my favorite song of all time)

Thunderstuck - AC/DC (Heck, pretty much anything by AD/DC)

La Grange - ZZ Top

You've Got Another Thing Comin' - Judas Priest

I'm a King Bee - Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Bad Things - Jace Everett (I'm not a country fan by any means, but I love this guy's voice on this song. It's the theme from True Blood)

I'm a big Aerosmith fan and a lot of their songs are good for driving. When I drove to New York to spend the weekend with a GF a few years ago, I threw a bunch of Aerosmith CDs in the car, opened the sun roof and took off. It was a 3-hour ride and I loved every minute.

For that matter I have the entire Pink Floyd Collection and YES... incredible music to drive to. For listening in the car I compressed it to MP3'S and burnt it to a few CDR's for easier access. I once drove from Charlotte, NC back to Nashville and didn't listen to the same track twice.

Driving through the fog in the smoky mountains while listening to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is a life changing experience.

Yeah, I have them all myself. They are on my 8GB MP3 player and just plug it into the CD player.  I also have all the Beatles albums on there.

I have 2!!!

Born to be Wild - Steppenwolf

A real pedal to the floor board song for me when I drive! If a car had wings I'm sure it would lift off!

Super Freak - Rick James

Loved to put the top down and crank up the sound.

I have a playlist on my iPod just for driving that has 700 songs.

I'm a huge classic rock fan, so it's mostly that. All of The Beatles, Tom Petty (a LOT of Tom Petty), Van Halen, Rolling Stones, etc.

But, here are my top 5 best driving songs.

5. American Girl -- Tom Petty
4. Hotel California -- The Eagles (good for night time drives)
3. Dance the Night Away -- Van Halen
2. Cowboy Song -- Thin Lizzy, which runs a very close second to...

1. Rock and Roll -- Led Zeppelin. Probably the best driving song, ever. You can't go the speed limit while this song is on. :lol3:

ETA -- Honorable Mentions:

Rockin' Down the Highway -- Doobie Brothers
Highway Star -- Deep Purple

Relics - It was the first Floyd album I heard.
Wow! That one's a "relic" alright! I have the Syd Barrett era material, but I'm definitely a Roger type of guy. I guess I fibbed b/c I don't own any of the David Gilmour era stuff at all. If it's not Roger (or Syd), I'm not interested.
