On November 17th, 2016, baby Marley was born. He is an Exotic Shorthair and had the most gorgeous and bright big brown eyes that are so expressive. His coat is black and white. His face looks exactly like he is wearing Batman's mask which is how he got his nickname Batman.
After a smooth first 8 weeks Marley suddenly became very sick and almost died. We don't know what caused it but he became so anaemic and his blood was like water. The vet was sure he wouldnt make it. But the little fighter surprised everyone and pulled through. I have had him for about a month now and he has bought so much happiness to our home with his bright and cheeky personality.
Marley loves to play. He especially loves fishing rod style toys and his favourite is an octopus with curled ribbons for tentacles. He also loves his plush mouse. Marley is an indoor kitty and loves to bask in the sunshine that shines through a glass sliding door in our kitchen. He also loves that he can see his reflection in the glass and frequently swipes at it. :lol3:
Marley has a number of places that he loves to chill out - he loves to sleep on the couch that is up against our aquarium so he can watch and swipe at the fishies. He also has an egg carton fascination and frequently sleeps in one. Lastly he likes to sleep on my laptop regardless of whether it is open, shut, in use or closed. :hi:
Marley loves his food and eats primarily 3 meals per day of chicken breast and grazes on Royal Canin dry food. He absolutely loves his chicken breast and is very excited when it's time to eat. He has grown so much in the short time we have had him.
We still worry about Marley's health as he seems to have reactions to things easily. He had a terrible reaction to his second vaccination and worming tablets and for the second time in his short life ended up in and out of the vets. We realise that we need to approach anything that may affect his health with caution as he is extra sensitive.
Marley is a beautiful boy that loves attention and loves to play. Whilst he doesn't like being picked up and is not really a lap kitty, he always loves to be close to us. He follows us everywhere including the toilet (and gets very upset if you close the door so he can't get in) and loves to give Eskimo kisses. He greets me at the front door when I get home from work and and always likes to have our attention. He has stolen our hearts and we couldn't imagine life without him.
