And now to our very special cat in the spotlight: Scotty

I cam across this beautiful picture of Scotty in our June photo contest thread :

Scotty is one of two cats living with our forum member emrldsky and here’s what she posted in his name on his page -

I am a large kitty, but please don’t call me fat. I’m just big-boned (even the vet says so!). I can be sensitive, and sweet, but I often come off as hungry and irritated. I love my mom and dad a lot, but I tend to snuggle with my mom more. Dad is ok with that.

Popsie’s Meowmy sent in this lovely picture -

I really do think his personality shines right through this lovely picture, doesn’t it? Here’s what his Meowmy says about him -

This is Popsie. I adopted him as a kitten and he will be turning 17 in a few weeks. He is a very loving cat, loves to get scritches and give bunts. He is a mommas boy to the max. His favorite thing to play with is anything string like that I drag around the house. He also likes to get into a lot of mischief. I spoil him rotten everyday.

I adore tuxedo cats and Tucker here, owned by forum member ShopCat is definitely an adorable specimen!

He’s not just beautiful though. This is what ShopCat tells us about him on his cat page -

A soft spoken articulate little gentleman, he is not only well dressed, but very sociable & well versed! He likes to wait for me to get home from work so he can tell me about his day, & likes his “quality time with Mom” on the couch later on at night while watching TV. Not only is he tall dark & handsome, he is a sweet, affectionate patient kind of guy who loves his Mom! What else can a girl ask for?

It’s the first day of May, a time of some holiday or another in many cultures. They tell us that the reason for that is that this is traditionally the first day of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere – I just read up on that on Wikipedia here.

This may be a good time for a seasonal anti-flea treatment. In fact, I had the pleasure of applying Frontline on all three resident felines in our home this week, so we’re all ready for Summer to kick in! If you’re not sure if you should de-flea your own crew, it might be time to get back to our article about Cat Fleas for some more information, and maybe a quick read through the shopping guide relating to Anti-Flea Products as well. It’s important to use only vet-approved products to treat your cat with and avoid OTC products which could be toxic for cats.

Cat in the Spotlight #2 – Mario!

Gorgeous Mario belongs to one of our long-time members known as Bella713. This sweet boy is a colorpoint longhair, with perhaps some Himalayan and maybe even some Ragdoll in him.

Here’s some more about Mario, right out of his own cat page -

Mario is a Flamepoint Himalayan, possible Ragdoll Mix. He is so sweet, and it’s funny but he walks fast to every place he goes LOL He is in love with Lucia and grooms her often till she gets sick of it. He has been with us 5 months now and is getting more affectionate everyday and we adore him!
